HAND-AND-A-HALF SWORD

This sword was one of the most efficient and general-purpose arm with a long blade. Its hilt was
prolonged enough to beheld with the left hand.

Straight, wide and long enough blade was mostly in hexagon
profile. The shield was either straight or bent towards the tip of the blade. This sword intended for foot
warriors was first used in Europe in the beginning
of 14th ct. Only in the 15thcentury it was accepted as a duel arm and since that it began to appear in a
luxury design. As a militant arm this one and a half handed sword
had its importance roughly speaking till the first part of the 16th
century.
